We at Randstad are currently seeking an experienced and committed unit manager for an exciting interim assignment with a department within the City of Gothenburg. This is a unique opportunity for you with solid managerial experience in the public sector to take on a responsible role and drive important workplace environment and development initiatives. You will work as a consultant through Randstad but will carry out the assignment on-site at our client's location.
As interim unit manager, you will be responsible for leading, planning, and developing the unit's operations. The assignment entails overall responsibility for finance, personnel, and workplace environment. A significant part of the role focuses on continuing the ongoing workplace environment work and creating the best conditions for employees through close and clear leadership. You will be part of the department's management team and contribute to the overall governance of the department. Responsibilities include, among others:
• Lead, plan, drive, and to some extent develop the unit's operations.
• Manage the unit's financial and personnel issues, including ongoing personnel development and rehabilitation responsibilities.
• Actively lead and drive the continued workplace environment work, including implementing measures in the action plan.
• Be part of the department's management group (ALG) and support the department head in the overall responsibility for the department's governance and management.
• Ensure the unit's assignments regarding:
• Processing of public space permits, statements according to the Public Order Act (events, construction, establishments, market trading).
• Traffic coordination at large events.
• Processing of lease agreements and support in property law matters.
• Responsibility for the department's contracts and contract follow-up.
• Handling of annexation cases and supervision of the city's land.
• Conduct investigations and development work, such as political assignments.
• Actively contribute to collaboration and development across departmental boundaries.

The scope of the assignment is 100% of a full-time position. You need to be able to be present on-site at the client's premises in Gothenburg for at least 80% of the working hours. Our client prefers the assignment to start as soon as possible, but no later than January 12, 2026. The assignment will continue until May 31, 2026, with a possibility of a shorter extension. Qualifications

• Relevant higher education degree at least at the bachelor's level (in public administration or equivalent).
• At least 3 years of cumulative managerial experience.
• Completed at least 1 assignment in the last 2 years where you had personnel, workplace environment, budget, and operational responsibility.
• Completed at least 1 managerial assignment where you have led a change initiative that included conflict management and change work (including cultural and value-based work) within the group you lead.
• Completed at least 1 managerial assignment where dialogue with external stakeholders and clients was part of the assignment.
• Completed at least 1 managerial assignment in a politically governed organization.
