About this role

About the Workplace Ersta Hospital is part of Ersta Diakoni and is Sweden's largest non-profit hospital with a clear value foundation – seeing the whole person. With roots dating back to 1851, we have provided healthcare in Södermalm, Stockholm, but we welcome patients from across the country. We offer high-quality, specialized healthcare with both breadth and expert competence. We are a university hospital unit conducting research, education, and development in collaboration with Karolinska Institute. We are growing to help more people, and since 2023, the hospital's capacity has tripled, with eight new departments launched. At Postop/ICU, we work in teams with nursing assistants, intensive care nurses, physiotherapists, and doctors. We have space for recovery, post-operative care, and three intensive care beds. "The hospital's smaller size means everything is close and collaboration feels natural. We look out for each other and help one another," says Anna, intensive care nurse. As an employee, you will receive: • Security through collective agreement and service pension • Skills development and opportunity to participate in research • Wellness allowance and benefits portal via Benifex • Opportunity for staff housing in Stockholm • Community in a value-driven organization that sees the whole person – including you. About the Role As an intensive care nurse with us, you will: • Provide post-operative care after surgery • Care for patients requiring intensive care • Be part of our internal emergency team 24/7 • Use bedside reporting according to SBAR with patient participation. "Here, I feel I do a good job and have time for my patients. I don't use my intensive care expertise every day – but when it's needed, it's crucial," says Anna. Who Are You? We are seeking someone who appreciates teamwork but is also comfortable working independently. You communicate well and want to contribute ideas for development. You share Ersta's value foundation of seeing the whole person and our core values: professionalism, trust, and hope. Your Experience To be considered for the position, you must be a licensed nurse with advanced training in intensive care or anesthesia and experience working in an intensive care unit. Experience in surgical care and development work is meritorious. We look favorably on experience with TakeCare and/or Orbit. Additional Recruitment Information Selection is ongoing, and the position may be filled before the application deadline. We apply probationary employment as standard. Contact Person: Marina Karlsson, Unit Manager, [email protected] Application Deadline: November 30, 2026 Please note that we do not accept applications via email. Warm welcome with your application!
