With new knowledge and perspectives, the University of Gothenburg contributes to a better future. **Institution Technician / Animal Caretaker; Core Facilities** Core Facilities at the Sahlgrenska Academy, University of Gothenburg, is seeking an Institution Technician / Animal Caretaker for the Department of Experimental Biomedicine (EBM). Core Facilities is an open university-wide research infrastructure for research within Life Science. Located at the Sahlgrenska Academy, University of Gothenburg, we provide access to some of Sweden's most advanced techniques and analytical tools for research in fields such as medicine, biomedicine, and clinical studies. Experimental Biomedicine (EBM) is a multifunctional research facility within Core Facilities that offers infrastructure, expert knowledge, and training for research involving animal experiments. EBM is also a national skills center and has an MRI imaging facility. Animal welfare as well as the 3R principles (Replace, Refine, and Reduce) are integrated into all aspects of EBM's operations and policies. Do you have an interest in natural sciences and animals and want to combine this with a broad mission to support research that benefits society and patients? We are now looking for an experienced Institution Technician / Animal Caretaker for EBM who, with a focus on quality awareness, wants to work with us and drive the development of research support forward! **Responsibilities** Animal care, supervision, material handling, documentation, and maintenance of records and routines. Study support within research as well as work on the development and implementation of the 3R principles in operations. **Qualifications** You have a recognized education in laboratory animal science (LAS course) or a recognized high school course in Animals for Research Purposes (DJFDJU0), as well as more than three months of full-time experience in animal room work in a laboratory animal facility. You are capable of independently managing and performing all tasks related to animal room work and have practical experience in study support. Post-secondary education in the Life Science field is an advantage. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude who takes responsibility and strives to achieve common goals with the highest quality. As a person, you are flexible, collaborate well with your colleagues, and contribute to a positive atmosphere in the group. You enjoy working both in a team and independently. You have good communication skills, both verbally and in writing, in Swedish and English, as both languages are spoken among colleagues and researchers. **Employment** The position is a permanent full-time employment (100%) based at EBM within Core Facilities, University of Gothenburg. A six-month probationary period may apply. Some weekend work may occur.
