Our main mission is to ensure the medical-technical conditions in healthcare. We are a regional unit with over 30 employees located in Gävle, Hudiksvall, and Bollnäs. Your work will be based in Gävle, but depending on the tasks that need to be performed, travel within the region may occur.

RESPONSIBILITIES
As a medical technology engineer, you will work with medical equipment and systems within healthcare, such as medical IT, ultrasound, radiology, radiation therapy, endoscopy, anesthesia, dialysis, ECG, monitoring equipment, eye/ear equipment, and diathermy. Collaboration is involved with healthcare staff, colleagues in the team, professionals from other departments in the region, and external suppliers. You may also encounter patients in your work.
Medical technology will play a significant role in many of Region Gävleborg’s initiatives, both in the development of future healthcare and in the ongoing renovations and new constructions at Gävle and Hudiksvall hospitals. We handle renovation and construction issues related to medical equipment to ensure medical-technical safety and to meet the legal, directive, and regulatory requirements placed on healthcare concerning medical technology.
As a medical technology engineer, you will, among other things:
• participate in investment planning and procurement
• perform arrival inspections and acceptance tests
• carry out preventive and corrective maintenance
• investigate incidents such as operational disruptions, accidents, and near misses
• mentor and train healthcare staff in the use of equipment.
Furthermore, you will work with your colleagues to drive projects and participate in the organization’s improvement work.

QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who is confident in their role and can communicate the knowledge you possess to others in a calm and educational manner. It is essential that you maintain control in pressured situations and view matters from a realistic perspective. Since the job involves many points of contact, your ability to collaborate, communicate, and build good relationships is crucial. Furthermore, you are attentive and resolve conflicts constructively.

You have an interest, willingness, and ability to help others and strive to deliver solutions. Additionally, we see that you appreciate orderliness, set and adhere to deadlines, and value the administrative tasks that come with the position.
In the role of medical technology engineer, you should have:
• a degree as a Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent technical education combined with work experience assessed as equivalent
• a B driver's license
• good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
