About this role

Job Opportunity: Engineer for Marine Systems Development We are now seeking an engineer who wants to contribute to delivering a safer future in the underwater domain. Here, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting and diverse projects, where you will use cutting-edge technology to shape and continue to secure the marine underwater capabilities and accessibility. Together with an experienced team, you will create solutions that make a lasting impact – both today and in the future. About the Position You will work in our marine materiel division responsible for marine systems used by the Swedish Armed Forces, such as submarines, vessels, and diving equipment. As an engineer, you will lead and conduct technical analyses, requirement specifications, and development assignments for technically complex marine products and systems. This may include ensuring quality through the system's energy supply chain, from storage (e.g., batteries) to energy conversion for propulsion or other charging. You will work closely with colleagues and contribute your technical expertise throughout the entire process – from initial idea and requirements to final solution. Work involves planning, executing, and following up technical investigations and smaller projects, where you analyze, evaluate, and report results and develop decision-making documentation. Furthermore, you will design and document technical solutions and track technical developments in your area. The position is located in Lund. Travel may be required for work purposes. About You We are seeking candidates with a civil engineering degree, college education, or other relevant education in the field, or equivalent competence acquired through alternative means that we assess as equivalent. To succeed in the role, you should have current and relevant experience in technical system design within energy systems. The position requires excellent communication skills in both Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing. Education in electrical engineering, electrical power, or energy systems is advantageous. We welcome candidates with practical experience in electrical/energy systems, though this is not a requirement. Previous experience in operational management and maintenance of relevant systems, such as vessel or electrical power systems, is a plus. We also value project work experience and requirements management experience. Knowledge in design or development in areas such as machine/energy systems, electrical/automation, or power distribution will be helpful in this role. Personal qualities are of great importance to us. We welcome applicants with diverse backgrounds and experiences who enjoy collaboration, are attentive, and communicate clearly and engagedly. You should adapt your communication to different situations and recipients, solve problems constructively, and have strong skills in structuring, planning, and organizing your work. Your analytical problem-solving ability should allow you to break down complex issues, make correct assessments, and demonstrate good judgment in statements, actions, and decisions.
