At the Department of Computer and Electrical Engineering, education is conducted in the fields of computer engineering, electronics, electrical engineering, and sound production. Research at the department takes place at the research center Sensible Things that Communicate (www.miun.se/stc) and focuses on sensor-based systems and services for use within the Internet of Things and artificial intelligence.
**Job Responsibilities**
We offer an exciting position as an engineer focusing on communication and control for the future 6G networks.
You will contribute to shaping the future of wireless communication technologies by participating in applied research and testbed activities, as well as leading independent projects. This position is a unique opportunity to play a crucial role in the development of next-generation wireless technologies, specifically within the VINNOVA-funded project VISION-6G (Semantic-Edge Intelligence for Remote Vision in 6G Networks). The project aims to develop a new wireless communication architecture based on semantic communication and edge intelligence for machine vision in 6G networks.
**Your Background**
We are looking for candidates who have:
- A bachelor's degree in computer engineering or equivalent,
- Documented expertise in embedded systems and wireless communication systems,
- Extensive experience in wireless positioning with BLE, WiFi, or equivalent technologies,
- Practical experience with programming languages such as Python and C++ for the design and control of wireless systems,
- Good knowledge of optimizing communication protocols,
- Excellent written and verbal skills in English.
Experience in the following areas is advantageous:
- Real-time systems,
- Development of embedded software,
- Machine learning,
- Semantic communication,
- Publication of scientific reports within the relevant field for the position.
