About this role

Chalmers is now seeking an Information Security Manager to lead and develop our strategic information security work. At Chalmers, you will become a central part of the Security Function, which works to support, coordinate, and educate the organization in areas ranging from personnel security and event security to physical security, security protection, and crisis management. Job Description The Security Function currently consists of a Security Chief, advisors, and two security coordinators, each with their own areas of responsibility. As we are a relatively small group, everyone is expected to be engaged in developing the security function and support each other in their respective areas of responsibility. The Security Function also supports other companies within the Chalmers Group on security matters. As Information Security Manager, you will be a key person in driving and developing Chalmers' strategic information security work. Together with committed colleagues, you will contribute to building a strong security culture, managing complex risks, and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations – while having the opportunity to influence and develop how an entire academic institution approaches cybersecurity and information protection. You will report directly to the Security Chief and have a central role in: Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a long-term information security strategy that supports Chalmers' vision and goals. Risk Management: Identify, analyze, and manage security risks at all levels. Leadership: Lead and inspire employees to work with information security. Security Culture: Promote and build strong awareness and culture around information security throughout the organization. Technical Expertise: Have a good understanding of the latest trends and technologies in cyber and information security to make well-founded decisions. Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant laws and standards, such as the NIS2 Directive and other industry-specific regulations. Qualifications We are seeking an experienced and driven Information Security Manager with a solid background in information and cybersecurity. You have a strong ability to communicate complex content in a simple and understandable way, both internally and externally. With at least five years of experience in a strategic information security position, preferably from a larger organization or a knowledge-intensive environment, you have a proven ability to develop an organization's information security work. You need to have good pedagogical skills that can be used when implementing measures, with the aim of creating understanding and awareness. We are looking for someone with a relevant academic degree and experience with, and good knowledge of, the ISO 27000 series. You also have a very good understanding of current laws and regulations such as NIS2 and GDPR. As a person, you are strategic, analytical, and solution-oriented, with a natural ability to drive work forward in a structured and goal-oriented manner. You need to be able to work in a group and independently, both with your colleagues in the security function and with others in the operations. Holding a training session or giving a presentation is not a problem for you. You are fluent in both Swedish and English, spoken and written, which allows you to confidently operate in an international environment. Meritorious It is meritorious if you have experience from an academic environment and have good knowledge in the area of security protection. We would like to see that you have worked on implementing information security strategies and have certifications in the security field, such as CISM, CISA, CISSP, or equivalent. Experience collaborating with SOC service providers is also a valuable asset that further strengthens your profile. Employment Type Permanent full-time position. Working at Chalmers At Chalmers, our core values – openness, respect, participation, diversity, and quality – characterize the work environment and how we interact with each other. We want both students and employees to feel inspired and driven to contribute to a more sustainable future. As an employer, we offer a stimulating environment where academic curiosity is combined with strong community and excellent development opportunities. As a Chalmers employee, you will receive, among other benefits: Flexibility: Opportunity to work remotely, considering operational needs. Generous Leave: Up to seven weeks of vacation per year, depending on your age and length of service. Collective agreement covering parental pay, sickness benefit supplement, medication cost reimbursement, salary exchange, pension, banked days, and flextime.
