About the Organization
The System Management Unit within the Swedish Armed Forces Telecommunications and Information Systems Unit (FMTIS) is responsible for managing and further developing the Swedish Armed Forces' IT and information infrastructure. The unit operates in multiple locations across the country and works in close collaboration with other parts of the Swedish Armed Forces and strategic industrial partners.
We develop, standardize, and manage solutions that enable efficient information sharing – from strategic leadership to operational missions.
Primary Responsibilities
As an Information Architect, you will:
• Design, develop, and manage the information architecture within the Swedish Armed Forces.
• Work to ensure that information structures and models support operational needs, IT strategies, and security requirements.
• Participate in development projects and serve as an advisor on matters related to information flows, master data management, and information lifecycle.
• Collaborate with both internal functions and external industrial partners to harmonize information management and system integration.
• Contribute to the development of guidelines, standards, and processes in information architecture.
• Support the establishment of a comprehensive information model for the Swedish Armed Forces' command and information systems.
Qualifications
Requirements:
• Relevant university degree or equivalent competence.
• Several years of experience working with information or enterprise architecture in the Swedish Armed Forces or other government agency.
• Experience in modeling information flows and business models (e.g., using UML, ArchiMate, or similar).
• Experience with architecture frameworks such as NAF or TOGAF.
• Excellent knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

Meriting Factors:
• Experience working within the Swedish Armed Forces or defense industry.
• Experience working with System Prio development.
• Experience with system integration and information modeling.
• Experience collaborating in development projects between government and industry.
• Experience leading work through agile methods.
• Worked as an Information Architect or equivalent experience deemed comparable by the employer.
• Experience in information and IT security.
• Experience working in a process-oriented manner (ITIL).
