IF Metall is now seeking a Local Coordinator for the Gothenburg department. You will be responsible for personnel management of a team of 23 people and have financial responsibility for the department. Here you will work with committed colleagues in a role that involves numerous diverse contacts and close collaboration with the department board. About the Position:
You will lead, coordinate, plan, and quality develop work across all departments. Work will be based on congress, representative, and department board decisions. The role includes personnel responsibility for administrative staff, ombudsmen, and staff employed by IF Metall's unemployment insurance fund. You will report to the Department Chair. As Local Coordinator, you are the department board's extended arm, and your primary tasks are to:
- Lead and plan department work
- Hold delegated workplace environment responsibility at organizational and individual levels
- Be responsible for skills development and recruitment
- Manage department budget, operational planning, and follow-up
- Serve as elected treasurer and sit on the department board and executive committee
- Manage training, meetings, and conferences
- Be responsible for finances
- Handle additional tasks related to operations such as member recruitment, organization, and negotiations

Who Are You?
We are seeking someone with knowledge in labor law, with experience in personnel management being a merit. You need experience working with operational planning, economics, budgeting, and negotiations. Understanding how to operate in a non-profit, trust-based organization is important, and experience in the trade union movement is advantageous. You express yourself well verbally and in writing in Swedish and English, with additional language skills being a plus. You are proficient with IT tools to support your work.
To succeed in the role, you must have the ability to build good relationships, work in a structured manner, and be results-oriented. You are communicative, adaptable to changes, and maintain composure under pressure. To enjoy the role, you are interested in strategic issues and enjoy problem-solving. As travel is part of the job, a B driver's license is required. We seek someone who shares the labor movement's values and has a genuine interest in union issues.
