The Swedish Defence University is an internationally prominent institution in defense, crisis management, and security. We offer a unique academic environment where civilian and military sectors meet. We educate civilian and military leaders, experts, and researchers who will analyze and manage today's and future crisis situations and security issues. The Swedish Defence University trains Sweden's officers and leads the academic development of the officer profession. We conduct research in law focusing on operational law and international law, defense systems, military science, leadership and management, military history, and political science. The position is located at the HR department in Stockholm.
About the workplace
The Swedish Defence University has a central HR department that maintains continuous contact with the university's management and other units. The department works both strategically and operationally in areas such as HR, payroll, travel, and health/wellness, and currently has twelve employees. The working style is characterized by community, openness, professionalism, and a coaching collaboration. The department includes five HR partners, two payroll specialists, one HR controller, one military staffing officer, and two health educators.
Job responsibilities
As an HR controller, you will play a central role and closely collaborate with the HR manager, HR partners, payroll specialists, finance department, and IT. Your main responsibilities will include driving the salary formation and salary mapping processes, as well as producing and analyzing statistics and data to support decision-making for the Swedish Defence University. You will support the organization with analyses and reports concerning all forms of personnel economics. In your work, you will contribute to the development and improvement of HR processes and systems.
Who are we looking for?

• Experience as a payroll specialist in the Primula system
• Experience in driving salary formation and salary mapping issues
• Experience in actively supporting salary review work
• Developed administrative processes and routines
• Good knowledge of the Analyskraft system
• Interest in technological development

• Experience in implementing HR systems.

About the employment
The position is a fixed-term full-time employment until July 31, 2026.
Employment at the Swedish Defence University may involve a security clearance for placement in a security class, which includes a background check and, in some cases, a security interview with the Security Police.
The position may also involve military placement. If you are already military-placed in your current position at an authority and your skills are needed in the Swedish Defence University's military organization, negotiations will take place between the relevant authority and the Swedish Defence University regarding your placement.
