The Assistive Technology Service is a specialized unit that works with assistance devices for people with disabilities, primarily in the areas of mobility, cognition, and communication. The unit is part of outpatient services. At the Assistive Technology Service, we are around 30 dedicated employees who enjoy working together and appreciate our jobs. We handle everything from purchasing and inventory management to training, service, guidance, and support related to assistive devices, as well as the prescription of electric wheelchairs.
Now you have the chance to work with the prescription of electric wheelchairs. We currently have an opening in our team focused on electric wheelchairs and need to strengthen our operations with a new prescriber. Therefore, we are looking for an assistive technology consultant specialized in prescribing powered wheelchairs for adult users in Värmland. You will collaborate with four other assistive technology consultants working in the same area.
Your role in the prescription process includes:

The unit also works with seating consultations and molded seats, as well as procurement activities, so these tasks may also be included in your position.
We are looking for you who are a licensed occupational therapist or physiotherapist. We expect you to have a few years of professional experience, as well as an interest and experience in the field of assistive technology. Knowledge in seating problems is an advantage. You should have a technical interest as there is considerable technological development in the field of assistive devices. It is important to have a good ability to convey information about assistive devices to both users and staff groups. Personal suitability is highly prioritized.

A driver’s license (Class B) is a requirement, as travel may be necessary for the position.
