About this role

Ref: 20252605 Job Duties As an Adaptation Technician at the Assistive Devices Center, you will be part of a competent team of technicians. You will work on manufacturing and documenting specialized adaptations and performing inspections on medical technical products. You will be the driving force throughout the entire process towards a customized product and will collaborate closely with our assistive device consultants. Work primarily takes place in our own workshop and testing facilities, but also at orthopedic workshops and in users' homes. Other tasks include participating in fittings with or without a consultant, as well as procurement and contract meetings. All work performed on assistive devices is documented in our operational system Sesam2. Qualifications Assistive devices are classified as medical technical products, which places high demands on accuracy and quality in task execution and documentation. Many assistive devices have a complex structure, making it valuable to be a problem solver with practical skills. You must be able to juggle multiple tasks and possess considerable patience. To thrive with us, you need to be flexible, stress-resistant, and have good collaborative abilities combined with the ability to work independently. We are seeking someone with experience working as an assistive device technician, specializing in customization. You must have completed an assistive device technician program within the last 5 years. Experience working in our operational system Sesam2 is meritorious. We place great emphasis on personal qualities. Since you will have numerous internal and external contact points and represent Malmö City in interactions with users, a friendly, professional, and service-oriented approach is required. Assistive Devices Center Malmö aims to provide Malmö residents with excellent service and a warm reception. Therefore, you must possess excellent social skills and have a warm, empathetic nature. You must have at least a high school education, an assistive device technician certification (not older than 5 years), and excellent computer skills. As work is performed both at the Assistive Devices Center and in users' homes, a Class B driver's license (for manual transmission vehicles) is mandatory. About the Workplace Malmö City is responsible for assistive device provision for municipal technical aids for all Malmö residents over 20. The Assistive Devices Center is the hub of this provision, housing the main warehouse, service workshop, reconditioning department, testing facilities, and more. The center is responsible for procurement, distribution, maintenance, and service of assistive devices, as well as information and training for prescribers. The Assistive Devices Center is located in Valdemarsro and Eastern Harbor, with approximately 50 employees.
