The Education Administration is responsible for all activities within the municipality's preschools, primary schools, adapted primary schools, after-school programs, high schools, and adult education.
At Arlandagymnasiet, approximately 1,300 students study. We offer 12 high school programs, both national and specially designed, allowing us to provide various educational paths and individual choices.
Our annual evaluations show that both students and staff are very satisfied at our school. Skilled teachers and the bright, airy facilities of the high school contribute to this, as does the positive atmosphere among students.
The school is divided into different educational units, with vocational programs forming one unit.
TASKS
As a full-time mentor at Arlandagymnasiet, you have a significant responsibility to follow, support, and guide students throughout their schooling.
This includes initiating student welfare work, maintaining contact with parents, conducting development discussions, parent meetings, etc. You will encourage and coach students, work with motivational initiatives, goal setting, and future planning, monitor students' attendance/absences, and implement remedial measures while assisting students with study planning and study techniques.
You will plan your mentoring sessions both in collaboration with other mentor colleagues and based on the specific needs of the class. You will coordinate and carry out any group-level initiatives and collaborate with teaching staff on how to implement group adaptations.
QUALIFICATIONS
We expect you to have previous experience working with youth, preferably within high school, and to have a teaching qualification or equivalent education deemed appropriate for the role.
You are structured and work according to a clear process. You organize and plan your work well, complete what you start, and meet deadlines. You also actively work on building relationships by taking initiative in social contexts, stepping forward when needed, and easily creating new connections. Additionally, we see that you are collaborative and adaptable to situations, finding win-win solutions through an unpretentious focus on the common goal.
