Job Duties
Your main tasks involve emergency response in a rescue team:
• Damage mitigation during rescue services
• Exercises for mission preparation
• Preventive fire protection and information/education for private individuals and companies
• Other occurring tasks at the fire station
Qualifications
We are seeking candidates with an approved SMO education or full-time firefighter status, or an SMO student with approved LIA or Grib, alternative rescue response, or part-time firefighter. Requirements include being fit for smoke and chemical diving, fully healthy, and having good physical work capacity in accordance with AFS 2019:3 with associated amendments in AFS 2023:16 and AFS 2007:7. Additional requirements include good water skills and a B driver's license. Experience in operational work within rescue services is considered meritorious.
As a person, you are confident and self-aware. You can put yourself in someone else's situation and have no difficulty speaking in front of a group. You are flexible, committed, responsible, have initiative, and can work both independently and in a team. You must be able to express yourself well verbally and in writing. We place great importance on personal suitability.
Before employment can be considered, treadmill test, swimming test, work requirements, and medical checks must be completed with approved results. You must also be able to present a criminal record extract. An introductory training will be conducted before employment begins.

Rescue Service Västra Blekinge is a municipal association that operates rescue services. The municipal association consists of member municipalities Karlshamn, Sölvesborg, and Olofström, which together have approximately 60,000 inhabitants. Rescue Service Västra Blekinge has a total of approximately 190 employees distributed across daytime staff, one full-time corps, five part-time corps, one rescue unit, and one forest fire unit.
