At the City Management Administration, we work on behalf of the City Council to lead, develop, and coordinate the city's common and strategic issues. We drive development in areas such as HR, communication, and digitalization – always with the goal of creating value for the entire City of Helsingborg.
The City Legal Unit consists of a team of six city attorneys who are committed and driven to lead, coordinate, and develop the City of Helsingborg's legal operations in a legally secure manner. Together, we work to provide qualified and close support to the city's operations and companies. Our workplace is located in central Helsingborg, just a stone's throw from Helsingborg Central Station.
Work Tasks
As a City Attorney, you will work across several legal areas and be responsible for providing legal support to committees, departments, and companies. The work involves, among other things, providing advice and support on various legal issues/cases, conducting legal investigations, training city employees on legal matters, preparing, interpreting, and reviewing contracts, making confidentiality assessments, and participating in legal processes in administrative and general courts and in contact with supervisory authorities. The work also includes working together with colleagues to drive and develop improvement efforts for the City Legal Unit's internal work and for those we serve in the organization.
Working as a City Attorney means you will work both in groups and independently. The work involves numerous contacts and close collaboration with various professional groups within the City of Helsingborg and its companies, which requires strong communication skills.
Qualifications
We are seeking a candidate with a law degree/legal degree who has experience in qualified legal work from public administration, law firm, or company. Completed notary service is meritorious, as are in-depth knowledge of municipal law, public access and confidentiality, contract law, public procurement, tenancy law, and data protection. You have an excellent ability to communicate in Swedish, both verbally and in writing.
To succeed in the role of City Attorney, you need to be flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances. You need to be driven, have the ability to take initiative, and find new approaches to solving the issues you encounter. You also need to be good at seeing connections and enjoy working with complex issues. Your approach is characterized by being service-oriented, engaged, development-focused, and solution-oriented. As a person, you are unpretentious, humble, and social.
