About this role

Do you want to play a key role in strengthening and developing the nurses of the future? We are currently seeking a mentor consultant who will have a central role in the work with students' clinical placements (VFU) and in educational initiatives at the Learning Center. Here, you will combine mentoring and development with efforts to enhance competence within the organization – and during quieter periods, you will also contribute your experience as a nurse in the resource team. YOUR ROLE As a mentor consultant, you will be responsible for coordinating, planning, and developing the municipality's work with VFU for both nursing students and specialist nursing students. The role has a clear focus on creating structure, quality, and good conditions for learning in the organization – both for students and for supervising nurses. You will prepare and match students for their placements, create schedules, arrange permissions, and maintain contact with supervising nurses, universities, and managers. You will plan each VFU period, introduce students, follow up on their progress, and ensure that both students and supervisors receive the support they need along the way. Your responsibilities also include identifying situations where a student needs extra support or is struggling to complete their VFU. This may involve leading follow-up conversations where you need to be both clear and attentive to help the student move forward. An important part of the job is conducting training sessions at the Learning Center for internal staff. This involves enhancing their competence through various educational initiatives – always with the goal of creating a safe, learning, and development-oriented environment in the organization. You will work closely with your colleague, and together you will drive networks, training sessions, and development initiatives related to mentoring and student learning. During quieter periods, you may also be deployed as a nurse in the healthcare resource team, which allows you to maintain proximity to the organization and the daily realities of healthcare. You will work daytime hours, Monday to Friday, and largely plan your own work. YOUR COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE You hold a nursing degree, have Swedish authorization, and have completed a specialist nursing education in areas such as geriatric care or district nursing. You have at least one year of experience working as a nurse and feel confident in independently performing the tasks included in the role. It is also advantageous if you have specific knowledge in elderly care or experience working with adults with complex medical conditions requiring specialized nursing. You have experience mentoring others – such as students or colleagues – and thrive in the role of support and guide. You express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing, are pedagogical, and can easily adapt your message to different target groups. To succeed in this role, you need to be structured and able to plan your work independently and purposefully. You are self-assured and remain calm even in changing situations. At the same time, you are relationship-building, considerate, and have an easy time establishing trust through clear communication and good collaboration. You possess good digital competence and are comfortable working in digital systems. A B driver's license and good physical fitness are required for the role – the work may sometimes involve heavier lifting, driving in varying weather and environments, as well as visiting patients in their home environments. YOUR NEW WORKPLACE As a mentor consultant, you will be part of the Learning Center, care, and social services, and to some extent, also the health and medical care unit. We collaborate closely with both universities, the region, and our municipal operations – together we create good conditions for the nurses of the future. We have a strong team spirit and a desire to continuously develop our work. You will work alongside engaged colleagues who share your drive to create quality in students' VFU. You will be based in a centrally located office and will have both the freedom and trust to plan and shape your work within clear frameworks – where mentoring, educational initiatives, and nursing assignments together enhance the quality of care and the future of nursing. Here, you will be a vital part of the effort to strengthen both education and the quality of care – for today's residents and tomorrow's employees. GOOD TO KNOW We recruit based on competence and focus on your experience, knowledge, and potential. Instead of a personal letter, you will answer a few selection questions and attach an updated CV.
