This is a temporary position for approximately 1 year, with the possibility of extension. About us The Admissions and Examination Unit is responsible for all student admissions to Karolinska Institute's educational programs and courses at both undergraduate and advanced levels. We conduct eligibility assessments for all applicants to Karolinska Institute's doctoral positions and are responsible for issuing degree certificates at the undergraduate, advanced, and doctoral levels. Our mission is to ensure that the most qualified individuals are offered places as students and doctoral candidates at Karolinska Institute. Your role As an admissions officer, your primary responsibility will be to process applications for courses and programs at both undergraduate and advanced levels. A significant part of this work involves assessing qualifications from both national and international applicants, as well as making decisions based on existing regulations. In addition to the ongoing processing related to various admissions rounds, you will also handle other admissions-related tasks and provide services to prospective students. You will have daily contact with applicants, primarily via phone and email, where you explain and justify rules and decisions clearly and pedagogically. Several times a year, you will participate in recruitment fairs to inform and inspire future students. Additionally, you will serve as a knowledge resource for colleagues at Karolinska Institute on matters related to admissions. The role of an admissions officer involves a high degree of responsibility and independent work, but you are also part of a team of officers who work closely together and support one another. As part of the position, you are also expected to take on other related tasks within the unit that pertain to our mission. You are expected to actively participate in efforts to further develop our operations and administrative processes. Who are you? We are looking for someone who has: - A university degree in a relevant field for the position. - Experience in administrative work within a university environment. - Strong communication skills. - Good familiarity with systems and comfort in working in digital environments. - Proficient knowledge of both Swedish and English, in spoken and written form. Additionally, it is advantageous if you have: - Experience working as an officer in education, admissions, or another relevant area. - Experience in admissions processing and working in study administration systems such as LADOK and NyA. - Experience working with students as a target group. The admissions periods involve a periodically high workload, and we are therefore looking for someone who enjoys working in a structured manner against deadlines and managing intense work periods.
