The Security Unit at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs monitors the global security situation and conducts systematic efforts to enhance the security of Sweden’s over one hundred embassies, consulates, and delegations worldwide. The unit also houses the National Security Authority (NSA), which is responsible for issues related to the security of classified and safeguarded information and operations in accordance with Sweden’s commitments to the European Union and its member states, as well as commitments to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and the European Space Agency (ESA). The daily direction for the NSA is provided by a designated principal authority.
We are looking for someone who can become a part of the NSA function. Your task will be to manage the legal work within the function and contribute with materials, analyses, and assessments of incoming proposals and instructions within the EU, ESA, and NATO. The role includes representing Sweden at international meetings within the framework of the EU and NATO. The position involves close collaboration with other ministries and with external actors and authorities, for example in the preparation of legislative issues.
Your background
You possess a relevant law degree for the position. You have at least three years of professional experience in transparency and confidentiality, security protection, total defense law, and administrative law. Experience with case management within the Government Offices or another authority is an advantage. The position requires strong language skills in both Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

You maintain a professional network and function well both in independent work and as part of a smaller team. You have excellent judgment and are attentive to detail in your work, even under time pressure. You possess strong stylistic skills, are responsible, and demonstrate a high level of service. You have a strong security awareness and are capable of handling sensitive information appropriately.
Other
This is a permanent position starting with a six-month probationary period. The start date is as soon as possible or according to agreement. The position is classified, and a security clearance with background check will be conducted before a hiring decision is made. You must be a Swedish citizen.
