The County Administrative Board is a driving force for a sustainable society. We work together with authorities, municipalities, businesses, and other stakeholders, focusing on Västra Götaland County and its 1.7 million inhabitants. The County Administrative Board has a broad operation and a very important role in several societal areas. This is especially true for current challenges such as regional growth, implementing the green transition, developing civil defense, and nurturing democracy. The County Administrative Board is a regional government agency with approximately 1,000 friendly and competent employees. We have operations in several locations in Västra Götaland and throughout Sweden, as we are responsible for IT operations for all county administrative boards. Job Description We are now seeking an employee for the Climate and Environmental Goals Function who will work with environmental, climate, and energy issues, primarily within the framework of our regional environmental goal work and the associated Action Program for Environmental Goals. As an administrator, you will work on tasks such as: - Follow-up, evaluation, and investigative work related to regional environmental goals - Promoting and developing initiatives within the environmental goals action program - Organizing meetings, information sessions, and conferences with relevant teams - Contributing expertise to other assignments the County Administrative Board has, such as government assignments, various investigations, and referrals - Monitoring the outside world and developing knowledge bases in climate and environmental areas - Contributing to the unit's and department's other environmental, climate, and energy work The role involves varied tasks suitable for someone who enjoys numerous internal and external contacts. You simultaneously have the ability to work independently and focused on tasks such as case management, investigations, responding to referrals, or analyzing information and developing supporting materials. You contribute and share your expertise with engaged and knowledgeable colleagues. The work is qualified, and you continuously develop new knowledge both in breadth and depth. Duty Station: Gothenburg We offer opportunities for remote work during part of the work time. Travel is included in the service. Qualifications Requirements: - Current academic environmental or social science education, or equivalent education we deem comparable - Good knowledge of environmental quality objectives and the climate policy framework, and general knowledge of Agenda 2030 - Good familiarity with Swedish environmental quality objectives in a regional context and knowledge of the regional environmental goals action program - Experience with follow-up and evaluation work - Experience conducting outward-facing activities and information initiatives toward external actors Meritorious: - Experience with strategic sustainability work and change management - Experience with communication work related to environmental and climate issues - Knowledge of case management - Experience with climate transition and energy issues - Experience working at government agencies, municipalities, or regions Personal Characteristics You are structured and have strong personal drive and ability to independently advance issues. Your ability to engage and collaborate distinguishes you, as does your interest in development issues. You have analytical ability and a natural holistic perspective with the capacity to understand different target groups' needs. You are meticulous and structured regarding information gathering and anchoring with colleagues and managers. You are skilled at formulating yourself in writing and presenting the authority's stance within your areas of responsibility. We value the ability to independently drive work forward and a genuine interest in the issues you work with. You are attentive, collaborative, and act professionally when representing the authority. As the work involves external contacts, you need good communication skills in both speech and writing.
