The Department of Fisheries Control has a comprehensive and coordinating responsibility for implementing Swedish fisheries control in accordance with the EU's common regulations. We are responsible for monitoring how Swedish commercial fishing complies with the applicable rules in the fisheries sector.
The Fisheries Monitoring Unit has a broad mandate to oversee and support Swedish commercial fishing as well as to collect and manage information from various sources. We are responsible for the registration, review, validation, and control of data reported from the commercial fishing sector and actors involved in the marketing of fishery products. The unit also conducts real-time monitoring of commercial fishing in collaboration with the Coast Guard and other relevant authorities.
**Administrator for the Fisheries Monitoring Unit**

**Job Responsibilities**
As an administrator with us, you will play an important role in the work to protect our seas and ensure that commercial fishing is conducted correctly. You will, for example, work with the following:
- Provide service and support to commercial fishermen and guide them in correct reporting and compliance with regulations.
- Register and administer various types of notifications from the fishing sector via phone and digital channels.
- Manage IT support for commercial fishermen and other actors in sales and trade, ensuring that all report their data electronically and accurately.
- Inform and respond to inquiries regarding applicable fishing regulations.
- Monitor fishing activities in real-time – keeping track of areas, boundaries, and fishing activities to ensure sustainable fishing.
- Collaborate internationally in joint control efforts with other EU countries to monitor fishing broadly.
**Qualifications**
The operations run around the clock every day of the year, and the position requires that you are available to work days, evenings, and nights.
We prefer that you have the following:
- A three-year upper secondary education with some form of post-secondary training in administration, social or natural sciences, law, or maritime studies.
- At least one year of work experience in customer service, administration, or governmental work, where you have had significant contact with both people and systems.
- Experience working in digital systems, where you are accustomed to handling and registering data accurately and efficiently.
We consider it an advantage if you also have:
- Knowledge of commercial fishing and an understanding of the regulations governing fisheries control.
- Experience in legal work or administrative law and feel comfortable interpreting and explaining regulations.
- Experience in phone support and know how to convey information clearly, pedagogically, and service-oriented.
As a person, you are structured and detail-oriented. You are communicative and pedagogical and feel comfortable explaining rules and regulations verbally and in writing in both Swedish and English. You are also flexible, self-driven, and skilled at handling rapid changes while having a strong understanding of people's needs and being meticulous in your official duties. **Conditions**
The position is a permanent employment, and a probationary period may be applied. The salary range for the position is between 30,000 - 37,000 SEK/month and is based on skills in relation to the relevant competencies for the position. The employment is based in Gothenburg, where the work is normally performed at the agency's premises, with some possibility for remote work. Start date as soon as possible after agreement.
