The Fisheries Control Division has an overall and coordinating responsibility for implementing Swedish fisheries control in accordance with EU's common regulations. We are responsible, among other things, for monitoring how Swedish commercial fishing complies with applicable rules in the fishing sector. The Fisheries Monitoring Unit has a broad mandate to monitor and provide support to Swedish commercial fishing and to collect and manage information from various sources. We are responsible for registering, reviewing, validating, and controlling information reported from commercial fishing and actors in the marketing of fishery products. The unit also conducts real-time monitoring of commercial fishing in collaboration with the Coast Guard and other relevant authorities. Job Responsibilities As an administrator with us, you are a crucial part of the work to protect our seas and ensure that commercial fishing is conducted correctly. You will, for example, work with the following: - Provide service and support to commercial fishers and guide them in correct reporting and rule compliance. - Register and administer various types of fishing notifications via telephone and digital channels. - Handle IT support for commercial fishers and other actors in sales and trade, ensuring all report their information electronically and correctly. - Inform and answer questions about current fishing regulations. - Real-time monitoring of fishing activities – keeping track of areas, boundaries, and fishing activities to ensure sustainable fishing. - Collaborate internationally in joint control efforts with other EU countries to monitor fishing on a broad front. Qualifications The operation is conducted around the clock every day of the year, so the position requires the ability to work days, evenings, and nights. We would like you to have: - A three-year high school education with some form of post-secondary additional training in administration, social or natural sciences, law, or maritime studies. - At least one year of work experience in customer service, administration, or public sector work, with extensive contact with both people and systems. - Experience working in digital systems, being accustomed to handling and registering information carefully and efficiently. We consider it meritorious if you also have: - Knowledge of commercial fishing and understanding of fisheries control regulations - Experience with legal work or administrative law and feel comfortable interpreting and explaining regulations. - Experience with phone support and know how to convey information clearly, pedagogically, and service-oriented. As a person, you are structured and detail-oriented. You are communicative and pedagogical, feeling comfortable explaining rules and regulations verbally and in writing in both Swedish and English. You are also flexible, self-driven, and skilled at handling rapid changes while having great understanding of people's needs and being precise in administrative work. The salary range for the position is between 37,000 - 39,000 SEK/month and is based on skill in relation to relevant competence for the position. The position is located in Gothenburg, with the starting point that work is normally performed in the agency's premises, with some possibility of remote work.
