Our Operations
At the Academic Hospital, one of Sweden's foremost university hospitals, you find yourself at the heart of the development of health and medical care. The Unit for Digital Development (EDU) leads the hospital's digital transformation and AI initiatives, where health data forms a foundational requirement for the healthcare of the future.
As a health informatician, you will become a key person in the work of structuring and making healthcare information reusable – for clinical practice, quality monitoring, research, and data-driven operational development. You will work on multidisciplinary projects closely with experts in care documentation, care development, patient safety, and digitalization, as well as collaborate in a number of region-wide and national initiatives.
Here, you will work in an environment where innovation, operational, and patient benefits go hand in hand, and where cross-professional collaboration is a natural part of everyday life.
Your Mission
As a health informatician with us, you will have a varied and diverse role. You will work closely with operations and collaborate to develop healthcare while ensuring that health data is captured, quality assured, and used in the best possible way. In your role, you will contribute to increased digitalization and AI development.
Your main tasks will include:
• Mapping, structuring, and harmonizing care documentation primarily in the Cosmic electronic health record system, including proposals for simplifications, harmonization, and standardization of documentation templates and keywords.
• Development related to the use of terminologies and information standards: primarily SNOMED CT, ICD-10/11, as well as working with standards such as openEHR, FHIR, and OMOP for increased interoperability.
• Designing information models and logical information specifications, as well as providing material for projects, procurements, and system development.
• Participating in cross-professional projects, where you contribute your expertise in health informatics, information structure, terminology, and digital information flows, both within the hospital and in regional and national networks.
• Leading and participating in change initiatives through workshops, training, communication with operational areas, and together with the hospital's management and support functions.
Your Qualifications
We are looking for someone who wants to shape the future of care through structured and standardized information. You are analytical, structured, and have a good ability to translate needs into clear solutions. You find it easy to work collaboratively and communicate with various professional groups, and you enjoy working both independently and in teams.
Requirements:
• Higher education in health informatics, informatics, IT, systems science, or another relevant field deemed equivalent by the employer.
• Strong collaborative skills.
• Excellent command of Swedish, both spoken and written.
• Ability to structure, analyze, and document information in complex information flows.
Meritorious:
• Experience working with care documentation and/or electronic health record systems.
• Experience working with or applying terminologies and classifications, such as SNOMED CT & ICD-10/11.
• Experience with information standards such as openEHR, HL7 FHIR, and OMOP.
Experience in project management, change management, and workshop leadership.
• Experience working within regional or national health informatics networks.
• Experience in training and implementing new work methods or systems.
Your Competence
You are proactive and driven with a willingness to collaborate and selflessly share your knowledge and information. As a person, you are focused on adding operational value and making a difference. You have a clear operational focus, the ability to deliver, meet deadlines, and be realistic in commitments, timelines, and solutions. You are a communicative and pedagogical person who can understand the needs and challenges of the operations. The rapid development in the area of digitalization requires your ability for continuous learning and skills development to succeed. Working within digitalization, AI, and health informatics is a team effort involving many parties, which places high demands on your collaborative abilities.
