About Us
Counselors in specialized healthcare in Sörmland are organized in a joint counselor unit within the Paramedicine Clinic. Paramedicine's task is to create the best possible well-being and quality of life for patients in need of rehabilitation. A total of 30 counselors work in the county, distributed across Mälarhospital, Kullbergska Hospital, and Nyköping Hospital.
We offer a competent and developmental work environment in an operation that is both in demand and well-established in healthcare. Mälarhospital has the largest counselor group, and you can always easily consult and get support from the colleague in the next room. We have regular meetings with counselors in the county for skills development, and you have great opportunities to grow in your profession. Your Responsibilities
Working as a counselor involves providing psychosocial support to patients and their families. The role also includes being updated and informed about societal resources and participating in various collaborative forums to provide patients with the best possible care. You play an important role in collaboration with other staff categories to contribute a holistic perspective on the patient's life situation. Supportive conversations with other staff categories may also occur.
The counselor's task is to complement medical care with psychosocial knowledge from a holistic perspective. In your role, you offer psychosocial support to patients and their loved ones. This can involve conversations in various forms such as individual, couple, or family counseling. The conversation focus can be supportive, crisis-oriented, processing, or existential.
We have a particular focus on children as family members and their needs. The work may also include managing various group activities. The counselor also has a coordinating function, serving as a link between healthcare and the surrounding society, and providing information about social legislation and various forms of social support.
Your Competence
We are looking for someone with a social work degree and healthcare legitimation. We prefer candidates with experience in counseling within healthcare and basic psychotherapy competence (level 1). The work requires independence and good collaboration skills. You need to be flexible and able to take initiative. You are accustomed to actively participating in various collaborative forms and have an interest in development and change work. We place great importance on your personal qualities. Driving license B is required.
Employment Form
Permanent full-time position or as agreed. Commencement date to be determined by mutual agreement.
