We are now expanding our team and are looking for a Sustainability and Energy Strategist for our Strategic Planning Unit. In the role of Sustainability and Energy Strategist, you will work on projects, thereby contributing to impacting and making a difference in the community development of Svedala Municipality. We are looking for someone who wants to help us create favorable conditions for the continued community development of Svedala Municipality. Assignment The position is located in the Strategic Planning Unit, which primarily works with issues related to the municipality’s strategic community development, such as comprehensive planning, urban development, design, detailed planning, land and development issues, infrastructure and public transportation, climate and environmental strategies, and nature conservation issues. Being a Sustainability and Energy Strategist in Svedala Municipality is a versatile, eventful, and responsible assignment where you will work with sustainability issues concerning energy as well as environmental, social, and economic perspectives. The work takes place both internally within the municipal organization and externally in collaboration with citizens, other municipalities, authorities, and partners. The work involves both project management and participation in working groups with a focus on sustainable development and strategic planning. In this role, you will closely collaborate with colleagues in interdisciplinary teams, where different competencies contribute to advancing the municipality’s sustainability and energy efforts. Svedala Municipality is currently developing a new energy plan, where you will play a central role in ensuring its implementation and following up on the execution of actions and activities related to the plan. The municipality is also in the startup phase of a collaborative project together with other municipalities and Energikontor Syd. The project aims to explore the role of biogas in strengthening the capacity and flexibility of local energy systems, as well as how the municipalities in southwestern Skåne can contribute to this development. The goal is to provide input regarding the potential of biogas and identify actions for more efficient energy planning in close dialogue with stakeholders. You will project manage this work in collaboration with relevant stakeholders. In addition to the above tasks, the role includes participating in inter-municipal and regional collaborations and networks, responding to inquiries from authorities and other municipalities, monitoring legislation and regulations relevant to the municipality's operations, and contributing to the internal development work within the Strategic Planning Unit. Qualifications We are looking for someone with a university degree in sustainable development, environmental science, or energy at least at the bachelor’s level or other education deemed equivalent by the employer. You have several years of experience in similar positions and project management, preferably within the public sector. You have good knowledge of the Environmental Code and relevant knowledge of the Planning and Building Act. Experience with energy efficiency and energy analyses is an advantage. To succeed in this role, you need to be a structured and collaborative strategist with experience in leading projects. You should understand complex linguistic materials and have a knack for communicating clearly in Swedish, both verbally and in writing, regardless of the target audience. For this role, good computer skills, proficiency in Office programs, and a valid driver's license (category B) are required. You have an easy time collaborating with people both within and outside your area of expertise. It is also essential to work independently and take responsibility for your assignments and projects, driving them toward set goals. Furthermore, you have the ability to switch between different tasks and prioritize according to prevailing circumstances. It is a plus if you have experience and understanding of how a politically governed organization functions and are interested in engaging in dialogue with citizens and businesses.
