We are now seeking an experienced and business-oriented Sustainability Director who wants to take full responsibility for environment, product safety, sustainability reporting, authority dialogue, and business-integrated sustainability governance. About the Role
As Sustainability Director at Lekolar, you will have a central role in driving the development of our sustainability strategy and working to achieve our goals in environmental sustainability, responsible supply chain, and product safety. You will be responsible for sustainability reporting according to legal requirements and frameworks, and you will be an important voice in dialogue with customers - especially within the public sector - where you contribute to meeting requirements and expectations in procurement and collaboration.
You will also be the company's contact person towards authorities and industry organizations, and represent us in expert and reference groups. Together with your colleagues, both in Sweden and the rest of the Nordic region, you will be a driving force making a difference both internally and externally. You will be responsible for a team of 5 people who contribute to Lekolar's sustainability work now and in the future.
Your Responsibilities:
* Develop and drive the company's sustainability strategy, including goals, risk assessments, and business opportunities.
* Engage in dialogue with customers, authorities, and industry organizations on sustainability and product safety issues.
* Design supplier requirements and conduct risk assessments related to sustainability and product safety.
* Implement new legal requirements and group-wide initiatives in sustainability and product safety.
* Be responsible for sustainability reporting to customers and according to legal requirements (e.g., CSRD, producer responsibility, Transparency Act).
* Ensure and further develop management systems and certifications (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, 27001, and FSC).
* Convene internal sustainability and risk groups.
The position is based in Osby with the possibility of working remotely 2 days per week.
Your Profile
* Academic degree in environmental science and business economics, or equivalent background in environmental science, EHS management, and business.
* Several years of experience in sustainability work in a medium or large company.
* Solid experience in product safety issues or equivalent work within EHS.
* Good understanding of public procurement, legal requirements, and authority dialogue.
* Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both written and verbal. Nordic languages are meritorious, significant communication.
* Industry experience in toys, furniture, or consumer products is meritorious.
