We Are Now Seeking an Engaged and Inspiring Principal Who Wants to Lead Högalidsskolan into the Future!
Högalidsskolan is an elementary school with grades F-6, divided into seven classes with approximately 170 students and around 35 employees. The school is centrally located in Finspång, close to the library, Arena Grosvad, Vibjörn Park, and beautiful green areas – an ideal environment for learning and development.
Here, preschool class, elementary school, and after-school care work closely together on various thematic projects throughout the year. Teaching is based on a language and knowledge-developing approach, focusing on strengthening students' motivation, responsibility, and learning strategies.

As a principal in Finspång municipality, you will become part of the principal group within the Education Sector, regularly participating in joint operational meetings. This provides you with context and excellent opportunities to contribute to school development from a broader perspective – not just at your own unit, but across the entire municipality. In your assignment, you will have access to support from an administrator, HR consultant, economist, and sector manager.
Your Future Responsibilities
As principal at Högalidsskolan, you have a key role in creating good conditions for students' knowledge development and goal achievement. With a present and operations-close leadership, where the student is always at the center, you will lead and develop the school's work together with committed employees.
You have overall responsibility for the school's operations, including responsibility for work environment, personnel, and budget. In your role, you are a crucial part of building a sustainable organization by identifying operational needs, leading change processes, and implementing strategies that promote development and quality.
Who Are You?
We are seeking someone with a teaching degree or other pedagogical higher education, preferably combined with experience as a principal or deputy principal. Completed or ongoing state principal training is meritorious. You have good knowledge of school governance documents and a strong interest in pedagogical development work.
You are goal-oriented and committed to your assignment and have the ability to drive operations towards high-set goals. Your leadership is characterized by presence, clarity, and structure. You work solution-focused and have a holistic view, enabling you to prioritize correctly in a complex daily environment and develop operations in collaboration with the staff group.
As a leader, you are confident, stable, and have good self-awareness. You are attentive to operational needs, and your communicative approach creates participation and transparency. You support, challenge, and utilize employees' competencies through close and trusting leadership.
You have strong pedagogical insight and genuine commitment to school development. Your inner motivation is contagious and inspires both students and employees. You build good relationships and collaborate well with others. You resolve conflicts constructively.
