About this role
The Upper Secondary and Adult Education Committee is responsible for the municipality's commitments under school legislation for upper secondary school, adapted upper secondary school, municipal adult education, special education for adults, and Swedish language instruction for immigrants. The committee is also responsible for vocational rehabilitation and municipal refugee reception. Midgårdsskolan is an upper secondary school offering three college-preparatory programs, introduction programs, and adapted upper secondary school.
Approximately 800 students attend the school, and their opportunity to achieve good results in a safe and creative environment is a guiding principle for everyone working here. We are now seeking a substitute teacher for textile crafts!
Employment Type
The position is a part-time substitute role, 30%, starting 2026-01-12 through 2026-06-17.
Work Tasks
We are looking for someone to teach the course Textile, Color, and Form, offered as an individual choice for students. The course comprises 100 points and is aimed at high school students interested in creative work, design, and craftsmanship.
You will be responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on instruction, focusing on developing students' practical and creative abilities in textile techniques, color theory, and design.
Teaching is scheduled for Tuesday morning and Friday afternoon.
About You
You are a clear leader in the classroom with the ability to create a secure, inclusive, and supportive learning environment, providing structure and context for all students. You are well-versed in school governing documents. You differentiate and vary instruction based on student needs. You share your knowledge and experiences to contribute to collegiate learning. An important part of the teaching role is building good relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. Great importance is placed on personal suitability.
Requirements
- Qualified subject teacher with certification in textile crafts
- Have/applied for teaching certification
- Experience teaching textile crafts
- Good Swedish language skills, both spoken and written
- Valid criminal record extract
