About this role

Are you an engaged and experienced school leader? We are now seeking a high school principal for Ebersteinska High School, Apprenticeship High School, and Second Chance School, who wants to influence, lead, and develop high school education in the Norrköping municipality! Your Responsibilities As a high school principal, you have an amazing opportunity to influence and shape high school education. You have overall responsibility for education within your schools, which you lead and develop through the principals you manage. You create prerequisites for first-line managers to take responsibility and ensure systematic work environment and quality improvement. You lead your high schools' management group with principals and ensure that education is conducted according to high school governing documents. Furthermore, you are responsible for developing education and knowledge results in line with development and mission plans. Together with four other high school principals, you are part of a driven and professional management team led by the high school director. Together, you lead, shape, and develop education within the operational area. As a high school principal, you act as the principal's representative to ensure that school law and other governing documents are followed. You have many different contact interfaces and collaborate with internal support functions and external actors, contributing to good cooperation with trade unions. The assignment as high school principal is part-time, as you will simultaneously serve as principal for one or more programs for the remaining part of your assignment. Who Are We? Ebersteinska High School is a school with approximately 570 students and 80 employees. We provide education in economics, natural sciences, social sciences, technology, sales and service, healthcare and care programs, and introductory programs. The school is state-of-the-art in newly renovated facilities where engagement, quality, and progress are our shared guiding principles. Norrköping Apprenticeship High School has approximately 40 employees and 230 students, some of whom study within adapted high school framework. We have a strong focus on professional life by offering vocational programs and educating our students together with experienced and engaged supervisors in respective industries. Our ambition is to provide students with security in their studies while allowing them to practice in their future profession. Second Chance School offers individually designed vocational education and an accessible vocational introduction program for youth aged 17-20, as well as groups for young adults aged 20-24. We also have an individual alternative (IMA) for youth aged 16-17. We are ten employees from different professions collaborating flexibly with a student group of approximately 80 students. By systematically working with safety, relationships, and challenges, our goal is for students to progress to other education within a maximum of one year. Who Are You? We are seeking someone who is proactive, communicative, and comfortable interacting with people. You have high capacity and consider it natural to focus on opportunities and new solutions rather than problems in various challenges. You have strong commitment to developing high school and enjoy working both independently and in teams. As a person, you are secure, stable, and without ego. You enjoy open and honest communication and easily create and develop positive relationships with others. You are flexible, skilled at prioritizing, and adaptable to changing circumstances. You have a teaching degree or another higher education with pedagogical orientation. You have extensive experience working as a principal or leading and developing pedagogical activities in an educational setting from another managerial role. We view experience in high school and leading principals in a similar role positively. You have both interest and understanding of economics and budget work and have demonstrated good economic results in your school leadership role. Additionally, you have completed principal training and are well-versed in school governing documents. You are a present leader who applies trust-based leadership and trusts that your employees have the knowledge, judgment, and will to perform their work optimally without micromanagement.
