About this role

The Swedish Parliament Administration is an agency tasked with facilitating parliamentary work. Approximately 700 non-partisan employees work at the Parliament Administration with various types of tasks. We are now seeking a guide who can engagingly inform about the parliament and inspire visitors through storytelling and interactive exercises. Your Responsibilities The Parliament has an extensive visitor program with different types of guided tours. These include tours of the parliament buildings, study visits for high school students, and art-focused tours. The majority of visitors are middle and high school students. Additionally, members of the public and international visitors attend. As a guide, your task is to tell visitors about the parliament buildings and the parliament's role in our democracy, as well as lead role-playing exercises for school classes. You will professionally and pedagogically explain the parliament and answer visitor questions. You must be able to adapt both the approach and your language to the group you are meeting. The Parliament Building is constantly bustling with activities, and you need to be able to adjust tours around other activities in the building. The position also involves administrative work within the unit, including parliament visitor booking. Work is performed daily using various Office suite programs and the administration's IT systems. We believe in continuous development of our working methods and routines, such as developing tour and visit content. You will be part of this work together with your colleagues. Qualifications Previous experience guiding, work as a museum educator, or similar experience working with groups is required. You have experience with and enjoy meeting middle and high school students. We are seeking candidates with a completed high school education. A pedagogical education or background in political science, history, art, architecture, or another relevant field is meritorious. You should have a genuine service mindset, good organizational skills, ease of collaboration, and be thorough and structured. You are flexible and can quickly switch between different tasks. Of course, you are interested in social issues and Swedish and European politics. Great importance will be placed on your personal qualities. The job requires fluent Swedish and English speaking and writing skills. Additional language skills are meritorious. You have good computer skills and proficiency in the Office suite. Experience with visitor booking at a museum or visitor attraction is meritorious. The Parliament Administration applies a probationary employment period. The position is placed in a security class.
