About this role

About the Role

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is expanding – we are building new facilities, renovating, and adding on, and we are now looking for more employees. Our primary aim is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will be safer for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, remand centers, and client transport.

The HR department is a national department located at the headquarters of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service. Its purpose is to ensure that the agency has favorable conditions for further developing its ability to meet its goals by being an attractive employer, a good workplace, an educational provider, and a partner that makes a difference in society. The HR department is undergoing an exciting development and transformation journey; our HR employees work with goals and results in mind while focusing on people and operations. The HR department consists of four units and has approximately 400 employees spread across the training, planning, and employer development units, operational HR support, and leadership and employee relations.

The Training Unit is tasked with working strategically and long-term on educational provision and competence development for the entire agency, and in close cooperation with operations, planning, developing, administrating, conducting, following up on, and ensuring the quality of courses within the area of responsibility.

The Training Unit consists of six sections, including one section focused on planning and follow-up, one section focused on admissions and course production, and four sections that primarily conduct the agency-wide training programs for employees and managers. The Training Unit currently has training and practice facilities in six locations across the country: Gothenburg, Härnösand, Malmö, Norrköping, Stockholm, and Örebro.
