The Police Authority is Sweden's largest authority with approximately 40,000 employees, organized into seven police regions, several national departments, and an administrative office. The Regional Investigation Unit (RUE) is responsible, together with police districts, for the region's investigation activities. The investigation unit coordinates and drives business development from a regional perspective in collaboration with the National Operational Department and other regions. The Coordination Section currently consists of five groups with different capabilities, related to regional crime coordination, regional case management, and preparation. The section has been created as part of the police region's move towards a more offensive and preventive approach to crime-fighting. We are now seeking a manager for the group handling investigation preparation. The investigation preparation conducts investigative measures at an early stage of the investigation to make decisions or distribute the case to the appropriate organizational unit for further investigation. The group's mission is under development, so this is an opportunity for you who want to be part of building the operation. You will participate in creating a modern and efficient investigation flow in close collaboration with case and crime coordination and other units in the region. We work according to the developmental leadership, which means you should act as a role model, show care, and have the ability to motivate employees. WORK TASKS Assignment as Group Manager for Preparation Group As the manager of the preparation group, you report to the section manager and are part of the section's management team, where you collectively are responsible for executing assignments and driving the authority's change and development work. You have specific responsibility for the group's activities in the area of investigation preparation and its results. As group manager, you represent the entire Police Authority both internally and externally and work to strengthen trust in police operations. Being a manager and leader within the Police Authority means creating security and building trust by exercising an honest, brave, and attentive leadership with trust in others' competence and ability. As a manager, you drive development by inspiring and encouraging reflection and feedback in a way that starts from following the law and treating people equally. You create conditions and work for good relationships that contribute to us acting together based on what is best for citizens and the mission as a whole. QUALIFICATIONS This is an opportunity for you who have: • At least 6 months of continuous experience working as a team leader, project manager, or similar • Experience participating in change and development work • Experience in the current operational area • Swedish police exam or academically relevant education for the function or equivalent acquired experience that the employer deems relevant We consider it meritorious if you also have: • Experience leading others towards set goals and results • Participated in management forums • Experience with police organizational operations • Management and leadership training for direct, indirect, and/or strategic levels • Experience participating in/driving collaboration with societal actors outside the police organization/own organization When hiring, we will place great emphasis on personal qualities and leadership abilities.
