Company Description
AFRY offers services in engineering, design, digitalization, and consulting. We are dedicated experts in industry, energy, and infrastructure, creating value for future generations. AFRY has a global reach with deep roots in the Nordics. Together, we accelerate the transition to a more sustainable society.
Job Description
AFRY is making significant investments in upcoming railway projects in the Nordics, and we are well-prepared for initiatives in both maintenance and new construction. Our railway organization operates nationally, with offices from Malmö to Luleå, and through close collaboration among various technical areas, we collectively form a strong whole. In Sweden, we currently have around 120 employees in the areas of BEST+KM and Railway Systems.
Section Mid currently consists of about 30 employees distributed across several locations, primarily in Mälardalen. The employees are led by two group managers who report to the section manager.
We are now looking for a group manager for the team based in our offices in Västerås, Eskilstuna, and others. As a group manager with us, you will have personnel responsibility for a team of approximately 15 people. This role offers great variety, an opportunity for numerous contacts, and client meetings, with responsibility for the individual development and work situation of your team members. You will participate in the section's operations, including strategies, profitability, marketing, quality, personnel, and competency development. You will also combine your managerial role with working part-time as a consultant, ideally as a project leader or technical specialist. You will be part of Section Mid's management team.
The work will primarily take place at the station location in Västerås. Some travel will be part of the position. There is also the possibility of remote work in consultation with the section manager.
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who are passionate about team development, customer satisfaction, business acumen, and have a strong interest in the section's services! We are all team players, and as a group manager, it is essential that you are receptive, curious, and collaborative. We seek someone who is enthusiastic about facilitating the development of others and building sustainable teams.
For this role, we believe you have several years of experience in the railway industry and are well-versed in issues related to the technical areas of track, electrical, signaling, telecommunications, cabling, and electrical power. In terms of education, we expect you to be a graduate engineer or equivalent, or have acquired similar experience from other areas. We prefer candidates with prior consulting experience, but experience on the contracting or client side is also of interest.
You have previously demonstrated strong leadership skills and can naturally engage and motivate others. We see that you possess good social skills and enjoy facing challenges, both technically and in terms of business and leadership. You have a business-driven mindset, are relationship-building, and it is a significant advantage if you have an established network in the industry. Naturally, you see yourself as a team player and enjoy sharing your knowledge with both clients and colleagues. For this role, we also expect you to be fluent in both Swedish and English, with ease in both spoken and written communication.
