About Bräntbergsskolan
Bräntbergsskolan at Mariehem is a school for students in grades 7-9. Located near Mariehemsängarna, with proximity to Bräntberget, Nydala, and Gammlia. Our competent and qualified teachers develop students' knowledge and skills, and student participation increases their self-confidence and self-esteem. Bräntbergsskolan is one of Umeå municipality's training schools, which means we receive teacher students during their work-integrated learning.
Position: Social Studies Teacher (Part-Time)
Employment Details
- Position: Temporary part-time position (50%)
- Start Date: January 7, 2026
- End Date: June 17, 2026

Responsibilities
- Teach social studies for grades 7-9
- Plan instruction based on curriculum
- Collaborative planning with colleagues
- Follow up, evaluate, and analyze instruction
- Assess and document student knowledge development
- Create a safe and inclusive learning environment
- Communicate student progress to students and guardians
- Potential mentorship responsibilities
Candidate Profile
- Strong classroom leadership
- Ability to create a secure, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Thorough understanding of school governance documents
- Skill in differentiating and varying instruction
- Willing to share knowledge and contribute to collegial learning
- Capable of building positive relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians
Requirements
- Teaching certification
- Qualification in all social studies subjects for grades 7-9
- Valid criminal record check
- Excellent Swedish language skills (verbal and written)
