Welcome to drop anchor in Oskarshamn municipality. The Community Building Office has approximately 35 employees divided into two departments. The Administrative and Environmental Department works with issues related to administration, environmental law, food law, alcohol law, etc. The Map, Planning, and Building Department works with map production, surveying, GIS activities, detailed plans, building permits, and housing adaptation. The mapping function, which is part of the Map, Planning, and Building Department, consists of a total of 6 employees, including three surveying engineers, one map technician, and two GIS engineers. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As a GIS Engineer in the municipal mapping department, you will develop, manage, and provide geographic information to support municipal activities. You will be responsible for collecting, processing, analyzing, and visualizing geodata, as well as developing and operating the municipality's GIS solutions and map services. The role includes system management of specialized GIS software, responsibility for the municipality's internal and external data supply, including quality assurance, updating, and delivery of geodata. The work will be done in close collaboration with colleagues in the mapping and surveying unit and other parts of the organization. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with a college or university education focused on GIS, such as a GIS Engineer, or other equivalent education. You have experience working with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Enterprise. It is meritorious if you have knowledge of databases and SQL, basic programming skills, and experience with automation in ArcGIS using Python and arcpy. Experience in administering web GIS solutions based on ArcGIS Web App Builder and ArcGIS Experience is also desirable. Knowledge of Topocad, VA-banken, or FB-webb is considered an advantage. As a person, you are structured, relationship-building, quality-conscious, results-oriented, and flexible. You are service-minded, have good collaborative skills, and use computers as a natural tool in your daily work. You also have a good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish.
