GIS Engineer

Role as GIS Engineer You'll become part of our work group responsible for Geodata in Kungsbacka Municipality. Our mission is to manage, make accessible, and develop the municipality's geographic information as a strategic resource for the entire community. In this role, you'll work broadly with GIS – from collection, storage, and processing to analysis and presentation of geographic data. You'll conduct analyses, create map products, and update and quality assure the municipality's geographic databases. The tools we use and manage include TopoDirekt, QGIS, FME-Form, FME-Flow, FB Property and Population. Our web mapping platform is based on PostgreSQL/PostGIS, GeoServer, and Hajk (OpenLayers). Example Tasks - Manage and quality assure the municipality's geographic databases - Contribute to the development of our open-source GIS platform - Analyze and present geodata as decision support - Build, automate, and manage flows with FME Form and FME Flow - Develop integrations between operational systems and datasets - Provide technical support and advice on geodata issues - System management of our systems - Contribute to increasing knowledge and usage of geographic information in municipal activities We are entering an exciting development phase where geodata is a strategic resource for the municipality. We're looking for someone who has: - Post-secondary education as a GIS Engineer or several years of equivalent work experience as assessed by the employer - Good knowledge of at least one GIS software It is meritorious if you have: - Work experience from the public sector - Experience managing/administering web maps - Work experience with FME Form and FME Flow - Work experience with databases, integrations, and APIs - Work experience with metadata, data quality, and information security - Work experience with open-source solutions in the GIS area Our Offer and Additional Information We offer a permanent full-time position with start date by agreement.
