Street & Traffic Department - Street Engineer Position in Södertälje Municipality
We work and develop Södertälje's traffic and street environments within the Urban Development Office. Our work encompasses long-term strategic planning, behavior-changing initiatives, and implementation projects. We strive to create a safer and more sustainable traffic environment for everyone in Södertälje through our work in traffic safety, sustainable transportation, strategic traffic issues, and street construction.
Your Responsibilities
As a Street Engineer, you will ensure the development and maintenance of Södertälje's infrastructure at a high quality level. You will be involved in:
- Pavement planning
- Pedestrian and bicycle path development
- Stormwater management
- Inspections and assessments
- Project design for street and infrastructure projects
- Reviewing detailed plans, building permits, and other technical drawings
- Serving as a liaison between Street & Traffic, the public, contractors, and other departments

Requirements:
- Relevant academic degree in infrastructure/street construction or equivalent experience
- Ability to contextualize municipal operations and communicate effectively
- Experience with paving work and infrastructure
- Ability to design and review infrastructure and street project drawings
- Documented knowledge of paving work and pavement types
- Excellent Swedish communication skills (verbal and written)
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
- Valid driver's license (B-class)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in municipal or public sector, or consulting in street and traffic areas
