Your Role

The Underwater Systems business unit provides both military and civilian products that offer capabilities both above and below the water surface. Versatility, flexibility, and high availability are characteristics that define all our products.

As a Software Engineer, you will work in one of our teams focusing on underwater products such as autonomous and remote-controlled vehicles, torpedo systems, and sensor systems. You enjoy working with software both as a developer and in supporting and driving the area's more administrative and leadership tasks to develop your leadership skills.
You'll get a unique opportunity to shape and develop work methods within our organization. You'll have the chance to engage in different parts of the area based on your interests, deepen your knowledge, and work with a broad spectrum of underwater system products, working closely with colleagues who handle customer requirements for each product. Contribute to our future development through technology studies and innovation. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to collaborate with technically skilled colleagues and specialists, and participate in testing and verification of our products in their natural environments, such as sea trials.

Your Profile
You are a civil/technical engineer or have equivalent knowledge, with several years of experience in system development with a focus on software. You have experience and interest in working with software in all parts of the development process. Experience in a leadership role such as team leader, Scrum Master, or similar is appreciated.
You will be part of a team collectively responsible for software at multiple levels; from hardware-near to application, user interface, and data analysis. This provides great flexibility with varying tasks depending on interest and need. We use both object-oriented and non-object-oriented languages. We prefer that you have previously worked with both categories.
The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to current security protection regulations. For positions where Saab has security classification requirements, this may, where applicable, entail citizenship requirements.
You need to be able to read and write fluently in Swedish and English, as this is a common requirement from our customers.
Location is Karlskoga.
As the team is located in two cities and our customers are in multiple locations, travel is part of the job.
