About this role
Vaggeryd Municipality's Home Care Services are located in Vaggeryd and Skillingaryd urban areas, with each home care group operating from their respective location. Each home care group is divided into smaller teams, which enables closer collaboration with a smaller group of colleagues. This also provides increased continuity for clients who get to know the home care staff. Collaboration is a crucial part of the work, and we assist each other both within home care groups and between locations.
In 2022, we launched a work time project that reduced full-time hours to 34 hours/week while maintaining full-time salary. Besides a lower full-time measure, a good collaborative climate, and varied, meaningful work, Vaggeryd Municipality has invested in raising entry-level salaries for nursing assistants. We also offer wellness benefits and actively work on skills development, digitalization, and service improvements.
We are now seeking someone who wants to make a difference with us in home care, based in Vaggeryd.
Job Responsibilities
Your workday begins in the home care facility where you collect your phone and review your day's schedule. You travel to clients by car, bicycle, or on foot. At clients' homes, you motivate, help, and support individuals based on their unique needs and preferences. This may involve medical interventions, personal care, cleaning, cooking, shopping, and laundry. You document interventions and events in our operational system Combine and maintain contact with clients' relatives. The work is often independent, but helpful colleagues are just a call away. In your role, you'll also collaborate with home healthcare, case managers, rehabilitation staff, management, and administration.
Qualifications
We primarily seek a trained nursing assistant with previous home care experience. Note that nursing assistant is now a protected professional title, and applicants should have certification to use this title. Alternatively, you currently have a permanent nursing assistant position in another sector. We also welcome applications from care workers with home care work experience.
As the work requires good communication and documentation, we expect fluency in Swedish, both spoken and written. A B driver's license and ability to cycle are mandatory. As a person, you are responsible, have strong empathy, and excel at creating and maintaining relationships. You are service-oriented, have a positive approach, and can handle rapid work transitions. During your shift, you'll use a mobile phone as a work tool to view assigned tasks. We therefore appreciate interest and comfort with technological solutions, welfare technology, and computer skills. You will, of course, receive training in these solutions through individualized theoretical and practical introduction.
