REGION VÄSTMANLAND
Are you passionate about working in a team with patients at the center and, as a physiotherapist, creating opportunities for people with disabilities to lead fulfilling lives? If so, you might be the one we are looking for at the Autism Unit.
As a physiotherapist at the Habilitation Center's Autism Unit, primarily working within the adult team, you will work independently on a varied assignment. The unit provides services to children, young people, and adults—many of whom have coexisting intellectual disabilities.
You will be part of a multidisciplinary team that includes several professional groups (occupational therapist, physiotherapist, social worker, speech therapist, psychologist, special educator, and dietitian) collaborating closely on planning, coordination, and interventions. The work focuses on network collaboration with care neighbors and agencies, such as psychiatry and municipal services.
In your role, you will:
Training occurs individually but can also take place in groups. You will collaborate with a physiotherapy colleague in the children's team and will have around fifteen physiotherapists at the workplace in Västerås for collegial exchange. All physiotherapists at the Habilitation Center in Västmanland have professional meetings twice each semester.
To facilitate your entry into the role in the best way possible, we offer a well-structured onboarding program.
You can expect a thorough introduction with access to mentors, a collegial atmosphere, opportunities to meet others in similar situations for exchanging experiences and providing mutual advice and support, as well as an exchange of experiences with other physiotherapists in the organization.
The Habilitation Center is a specialist organization that provides support and treatment to children, adolescents, and adults with visual impairments, intellectual disabilities, autism, or congenital, extensive, and permanent mobility impairments. Adults with acquired brain injuries receive support concerning communication and cognition. The Habilitation Center employs approximately 150 staff across our units in Västerås, Köping, and Fagersta.
