Full-time (or part-time) English-speaking nanny, Östermalm

Ref. 4282Ö We are currently seeking an English-speaking nanny to join a family with two children aged 8 and 14 years. The position can be 50%, 75%, or 100% of full-time (which translates to an average of 20, 30, or 40 hours per week), as the family has another person who can assist if the nanny is not working full-time. (The nanny will receive a guaranteed monthly salary and paid overtime.) The exact schedule will vary from week to week based on the parents' work commitments. The duties will include: • Dropping off and picking up the children from school and activities. • Assisting with homework in the afternoons. • Occasionally staying overnight when both parents are traveling for work. • Occasional weekend work. • Flexibility to work evenings a couple of times per month. • Managing the children's laundry (only). • Keeping the children's rooms tidy. • Organizing and sorting the children's belongings, such as sorting out clothes that have become too small, toys that are no longer played with, etc. • Cooking for the children. • Assisting with packing for the children's travels. • Ensuring school/sports bags are packed with the correct items. • The nanny will need to be able to travel with the family occasionally (this may be negotiable if the nanny is not working full-time). The family is very down-to-earth and believes it is important for the children to learn to take care of themselves; therefore, the nanny is encouraged to help teach the children to do things independently. It is essential for the family that the nanny and the children can have fun together, and the nanny should be someone who enjoys participating in activities with the children. The nanny should also serve as a good role model and lead by example. They want the nanny to promote outdoor play and sports, which the children enjoy. The ideal candidate should be reliable and a good team player, as the family also employs a full-time housekeeper with whom the nanny will collaborate. It is important that the nanny has a "can-do" attitude and is willing to assist with whatever is needed. The nanny should also be comfortable working with a schedule that changes from week to week. The children speak both Swedish and English, but it is important for the family to have a nanny with a high level of English proficiency so that the children can continue to develop their English skills. The family resides in Östermalm, and the position will commence as soon as the right candidate is found.
