About this role
We are looking for someone who wants to help develop the municipality's collaboration with the local associations! As a Leisure Coordinator, you will be a key person in the effort to strengthen civil society and contribute to a rich, inclusive, and sustainable leisure life in Vara Municipality.
**Your Mission**
As a Leisure Coordinator, you will serve as a central link between the municipality and the local associations. You are responsible for strengthening, maintaining, and further developing good relationships with associations and non-profit actors, aiming to create conditions for participation, inclusion, and a wide range of leisure activities for the municipality's residents.
Your role includes managing the municipality's grants to associations—from preparation and follow-up to administration—and ensuring that the process is conducted in a legally secure and transparent manner within our digital systems. You will also provide support and guidance to associations throughout their application processes.
Additionally, you will be responsible for the municipality's booking system related to sports facilities and venues, serving as the system administrator. In collaboration with operations and service staff, you will work to create smooth and efficient booking flows.
A crucial part of your assignment is to contribute to the municipality's development work in areas such as public health, youth leisure, and sustainability, including efforts connected to Meaningful Leisure. You will work strategically to develop the municipality's collaboration with associations based on new needs and opportunities, and actively participate in projects and networks within the culture and leisure sector.
**Your Knowledge and Experience**
We are looking for a relationship-building and engaged person with the ability to communicate clearly, build trust, and create good collaborations. You thrive in the roles of both coordinator and developer, where you can combine strategic thinking with practical implementation.
You have a good understanding of the Swedish association life and recognize the opportunities and challenges that non-profit actors face. Experience in administrative work, preferably within the public sector, gives you a strong sense of structure, follow-up, and lawful handling. You are accustomed to working in digital systems, such as booking and case management programs, and you easily grasp new tools.
We seek candidates who have post-secondary education in a relevant field such as communication, public health, leisure sciences, or public administration. Experience in project management and ideally work within a politically governed organization is preferred, along with an understanding of municipal administration and regulatory practices.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
The position is a permanent full-time employment (100%).
A driving license (Category B) is required.
**Your Future Workplace**
With us in Vara Municipality, you will have engaged colleagues and supervisors, training and development opportunities, as well as benefits in the form of wellness grants. All employees are also members of our Leisure Association, which organizes sports activities and other leisure and cultural events, offering discounts on certain events at the Vara Concert Hall. In Vara Municipality, we support each other, and it is together with our ethical compass that we achieve our common goals!
