The Children and Education Department encompasses preschool, primary school, adapted primary school, after-school care, high school, and adult education. Currently, over 200 employees work in our department.
We lay the foundation for lifelong learning by offering secure care and stimulating learning environments. We actively work with guided interaction and focus on children's and students' conditions and personal abilities.
We work towards high goal fulfillment and ensure that each student receives the best possible conditions for a safe and successful schooling. We offer our children and youth meaningful leisure activities through our after-school programs.
Job Responsibilities
As an after-school care teacher, you play a central role in creating a safe, stimulating, and meaningful leisure time for our students. In this role, you are responsible, together with colleagues, for planning, implementing, and evaluating activities based on curriculum, governing documents, and established goals. Coordinators meet continuously for joint planning. The position may also involve further developing organized recess activities in collaboration with colleagues. Activities are created based on students' needs and interests. Working in our after-school care means being part of the entire school's operations, where you collaborate with other staff to achieve the best results for students' schooling. You always focus on student learning through a pedagogically, socially, and physically accessible learning environment. The assignment includes supporting students' social and general development, expanding and deepening their knowledge and experiences. During the school day, you collaborate with classroom teachers in teaching and creating the best possible learning environment for students during lessons and breaks.
You make a difference for our students by believing in their abilities and encouraging creativity, movement, and curiosity. The work involves developing students' social skills and knowledge. You work from a holistic perspective where school, recess activities, and after-school care are equally important for students to reach their goals. Collaboration with students, guardians, school colleagues, and your team is a crucial part of the assignment.
Qualifications
We are seeking a certified after-school care teacher or leisure pedagogue with experience in planning, implementing, and following up activities in after-school care. You have a good understanding of the after-school care curriculum and the school's mission and core values. We consider previous experience in school and/or after-school care settings as meritorious. We expect you to be someone who can create a positive and creative learning environment for students. You approach students individually, build good relationships, and spread a positive atmosphere in your interactions. The ability to work independently and in close collaboration with colleagues is a given. You have a professional approach and inspire confidence in students, guardians, and staff. Furthermore, you are responsible, open to different working methods, and attentive to individual student needs. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability. We require a criminal record check before employment. Interviews may be conducted on an ongoing basis during the application period.
