Who are we?
Norrköping Youth Centers are part of the Growth and Development Office, and our mission is to create a safe and health-promoting environment for children and youth. We complement school work by offering various learning situations that promote children and youth's knowledge development. We utilize and encourage visitors' creativity, needs, and personal interests.
Together with associations, nearby schools, civil society, and the business community, we develop Norrköping Youth Centers to create joy, belonging, and meaningful leisure time. This contributes to increasing Norrköping's attractiveness and strengthens Norrköping as a place to live and visit.

We are now seeking a Youth Recreation Leader for our activities in Klockaretorpet!
Your Responsibilities
As a Youth Recreation Leader, you have a significant role in creating meaningful and developmental leisure time with and for children and youth. By supporting young people in their interests, we collaboratively plan, lead, and develop various aspects of our activities where you contribute to making a difference in young people's lives.
You will work with children and youth aged 10-19, both in drop-in activities, group activities, and various projects. Your working hours will primarily be at our facility, but you will also conduct outreach activities in other areas to meet young people where they are.
In your professional role, you will approach youth from a supportive perspective, build safe and trustworthy relationships, and create an inclusive and inspiring environment where youth feel seen and inspired.
Together with colleagues, you will plan and develop the activities, which are currently in a development phase, both as a group and as part of the area to create a sustainable operation moving forward. Your professional role includes collaboration, for example, with schools, associations, and other actors to offer a broad and relevant range of activities.
Who are you?
We are seeking someone with a Youth Recreation Leader education, social pedagogical education, or other relevant pedagogical higher education of at least two years. We prefer candidates with experience working at youth centers, in pedagogical activities related to youth leisure, or within associations.
You should have experience collaborating with other actors and knowledge of outreach work. Knowledge of critical pedagogical approaches, youth self-organization, and enthusiasm for working collaboratively is meritorious.
As a person, you are confident and adept at creating positive and supportive relationships with others. You contribute to well-being, cooperation, and a good work environment within the team.
You take initiative, are solution-focused, and enjoy proposing new ideas and approaches. You share knowledge and information with colleagues to collectively achieve organizational goals.
You have strong pedagogical skills, adapting communication and approach based on individuals' different circumstances. You see each individual and understand how people's backgrounds, culture, and group affiliations influence them.
Furthermore, you are structured and can organize and prioritize tasks based on their urgency and importance.
For this position, we require that you can swim and express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing.
