For the position of Recreation Manager, we are looking for a communicative and unifying leader who builds trust and fosters engagement. You are oriented towards development and courageous, with the ability to strengthen existing values while leading change initiatives with both energy and structure. Your leadership encompasses strategic thinking as well as relationship-building. **Scope** The Recreation Department consists of approximately 35 employees and includes the following activities: - Sports and recreation facilities, including swimming pools and municipal outdoor baths - Support for associations and facility booking - Health center, promoting a healthy lifestyle for all ages, e.g., physical activity on prescription (FaR) - Outdoor activities and projects **Assignment** As the Recreation Manager, your responsibilities will include: - Directing and leading the work within the department, which encompasses responsibility for personnel, budget, and operational leadership; overseeing other managers with a focus on goal-oriented and trust-based leadership - Assisting the Head of Administration in preparing for the technology and recreation committee regarding recreational activities - Representing the municipality’s recreational activities in dialogue with internal and external partners - Developing strategies and materials for a growing and active recreational program throughout the municipality - Working across departments and the municipality to address long-term development and challenges in the recreational field - Representing the municipality on recreational issues in various external contexts and networks You will report to the Head of Administration at the Technology and Recreation Administration and will be part of the management team. **Qualifications** We believe you have a relevant academic background and experience working in a politically governed organization. You have experience as a manager and leader, preferably within the recreational sector. You possess strategic thinking and can balance goals and resources in relation to outcomes. We seek someone who is self-assured and enjoys collaborating closely with others. In your managerial role, you have the ability to achieve good results through others. You delegate, challenge, and are both educational and inspiring. You are a creative individual who wishes to be involved in and drive ongoing change and development efforts. As a manager, you are independent with strong communication skills and a structured approach to work – you can see ahead and create engagement. You have relevant IT skills, and your proficiency in Swedish is excellent. While previous experience in a leadership position within recreational activities is an advantage, it is not a requirement. We place great emphasis on your personal suitability. Technology and Recreation Administration: We participate in building new facilities and properties, maintaining the municipality's premises, and developing outdoor life. We also provide support to associations and manage streets, roads, parks, drinking water, and wastewater. Additionally, you will find swimming pools, a health center, and recreational libraries among our offerings.
