Do you want to be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and development of Lidingö’s bridges, tunnels, and other infrastructure constructions?
**Your Role**
As the manager for civil engineering structures, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and development of the municipality's bridges, tunnels, and other infrastructure constructions. The work includes both short-term and long-term planning, ensuring that the facilities are safe, functional, and sustainable over time.
The assignment also includes responsibility for the municipality’s piers (both concrete and wood), dams, and shoreline protection, which are essential parts of our infrastructure—especially considering that we are an island municipality. You will also contribute as an expert in detailed planning processes when issues related to infrastructure constructions and technical solutions need to be assessed early in the planning phase.
You will have budget responsibility for both investments and operations, follow up on ongoing measures, and collaborate with internal project managers, contractors, and consultants. Major projects are carried out by the municipality's project managers, where you will serve as the client, responsible for requirements specification and monitoring.
You will belong to the unit for streets, traffic, and parks and be part of the operations area for streets, providing support to colleagues on matters such as land leasing and winter maintenance as needed—especially during periods of high workload due to snow.
At the Technical Administration, we strive to work innovatively and digitally, focusing on developing our working methods and using technology to create smarter and more sustainable solutions for future infrastructure.
**Your Profile**
You have an education in civil or construction engineering, or equivalent experience that we assess as comparable. You have experience with public procurement and good knowledge in budget and cost monitoring. Experience in construction and maintenance work, bridge design or bridge construction is an advantage, as well as certification in Concrete Class 1. Furthermore, you have good IT skills, and preferably experience with the BaTMan system.
We are looking for someone with a development-oriented approach and interest in new solutions within operation and maintenance. Perhaps you have experience working with digital tools, new materials, or innovative methods to streamline processes and extend the lifespan of facilities. You are curious, solution-oriented, and like to contribute ideas that advance both working methods and technology within the field. You are flexible and take initiative when needed. The role involves both internal and external contacts, requiring you to collaborate easily and communicate clearly both verbally and in writing. Personal suitability is an important part of the selection process.
