About this role

Do you want to contribute to strengthening Chalmers' role as a host and partner in national and international research infrastructures? We are looking for someone who wants to be a key person in the development of Chalmers' strategic work with research infrastructure – and who enjoys supporting researchers in their applications to Swedish and international research funders. As a research advisor with a particular focus on research infrastructure, you will become a central link between researchers, management, and external partners, with a mission that combines strategic development, research funding, and operational support. About the organization The Grants and Innovation Office is Chalmers' central expert function for external research funding and is part of the department for research, innovation, and collaboration support. We support researchers, institutions, and management in the work of identifying, applying for, and managing external research funds, both nationally and internationally. The function collaborates closely with economists, lawyers, collaboration advisors, and the rector's office. About the role In this role, you will have a special responsibility for Chalmers' work with research infrastructure – an area that is crucial for our scientific development and our position as an internationally competitive university. You will work both strategically and operationally to ensure that Chalmers can be a strong and credible host for advanced research facilities and infrastructural collaborations. Your work will involve providing qualified advice and support to management functions at various levels, including directors/operational management of the infrastructure, during application processes, particularly within larger consortia and strategic calls related to infrastructure and research funding. You will contribute to the coordination and follow-up of Chalmers' engagement in national infrastructures, primarily by ensuring that stakeholder councils are conducted, that relevant issues are addressed, and that meetings are well-prepared. You will develop processes, templates, and routines that strengthen Chalmers' management of infrastructural collaborations and applications, and serve as an important contact point between the infrastructure's management and other management functions at Chalmers, such as the rector's level. A central part of the work is to prepare materials and contribute to strategic dialogues at the management level, as well as participate in analysis and monitoring of research policy issues related to research infrastructure and funding. At the same time, you will participate in the Grants and Innovation Office's broad mission regarding research funding, where you, together with colleagues, will develop processes, methodologies, and communication for effective research support. Qualifications We are looking for someone with an academic degree, preferably at the doctoral level, or equivalent experience. You have a good understanding of the conditions of academic research and recognize the central role of research infrastructures in the research system. Your background includes experience in research funding, research support, or infrastructure coordination, preferably within universities, colleges, or research institutes. You work in a structured and independent manner while enjoying close collaboration with researchers, colleagues, and management. The role requires excellent communication skills in both Swedish and English, both orally and in writing. It is advantageous if you have experience working with national infrastructures, research councils, or EU research funding programs. Experience in collaboration between academia, government, and society is also valuable, as is the ability to handle complex issues under time pressure and to build relationships in an organization with many points of contact. Employment type Permanent full-time position. Working at Chalmers Chalmers' core values: openness, respect, participation, diversity, and quality, permeate our view of our work environment and our employees.
