About this role

Department of Education, Didactics and Educational Sociology (EDU) conducts research, doctoral education, undergraduate education, and commissioned education in pedagogy, didactics, and educational sociology. EDU also offers several master's programs. EDU has approximately 250 employees, including around 175 teachers/researchers, 45 doctoral students, and 30 administrative staff. Job Responsibilities: The position involves planning, implementation, and follow-up of collaborative projects between the Continuing Education Department for School Internationalization (FBA) and schools. The position holder will develop, coordinate, and drive teaching development projects in collaboration with the FBA teaching staff. The assignment includes research and collaboration tasks, as well as administrative duties related to the collaborative project. Additionally, some teaching within FBA's regular activities may be required, not exceeding 20% of the employment. The position focuses on collaborative projects related to multilingualism, mother tongue, or study guidance. The design and content of collaborative projects will be determined in consultation with the FBA colleagues and participating schools, based on schools' needs for didactic competence development, grounded in current language didactic theory and method. The research coordinator will be responsible for coordinating identified needs with the scientific and didactic expertise within FBA, aiming to create a collaborative project based on current language didactic research findings. Qualification Requirements: Eligible for employment are those who have obtained a doctoral degree in didactics with a focus on mother tongue/multilingualism/study guidance or have achieved equivalent scientific competence. Desirable and/or Meritorious Qualifications: Experience in collaborative projects is meritorious. Particularly meritorious is experience with collaborative projects between universities and primary or secondary schools relevant to the position. Research experience in the field of didactics focusing on mother tongue/multilingualism/study guidance is meritorious. Teacher training in subjects relevant to the position, as well as teaching experience from youth schools, is also meritorious. In the selection among qualified applicants, special emphasis will be placed on both scientific and pedagogical skills. Scientific skill refers to research merits and the applicant's potential to contribute to the collaborative project of the position. Additional skills in administration and management will also be considered. The university will primarily consider the candidate who, after a qualitative overall assessment of competence and skills, is deemed to have the best prerequisites to implement and develop the current work tasks and contribute to a positive development of the activities. About the Position: Individual salary setting applies. The position is time-limited until 2026-12-15. The scope is 60%. Commencement on 2026-01-01 or by agreement. Location is Uppsala.
