About the Job Your responsibilities will include participating in experimental studies to understand the effects of toxic substances on human and environmental health. You will primarily work with proteins from cells or tissues. Laboratory work includes protein extraction under natural conditions and performing thermal shift analysis on the proteomes, as well as quantitative analysis of proteins and peptides using mass spectrometry. The role also involves participating in the research group's activities related to the project. About You We are looking for someone with an academic degree in biology, biochemistry, or molecular cell biology, and a master's degree that includes areas such as advanced courses in statistical analysis/modeling, which will be considered an asset. We would like you to have: - Experience in sample preparation, processing, and analysis in a proteomics laboratory. - Familiarity with aquatic sentinel organisms, invertebrates, sediment samples, and phytoplankton. - Skills in project management and communication. Preferred qualifications include: - Analysis of MS/MS spectra for protein identification and target identification. - In silico prediction of biophysical properties of proteins. The position requires good proficiency in English, both spoken and written. As a person, you are structured, self-driven, and proactive. Your Workplace You will work in the Department of Cell Biology and Neurobiology (CNB) as part of a team of researchers in Susana Cristobal's research group. The Department of Biomedical and Clinical Sciences (BKV) is one of the largest departments at the university, primarily operating within the medical faculty. Our goal is to conduct education and research in medicine and biomedicine with high international quality.
