Business Area Special Products
Business Area Special Products delivers strategic services and products. The business area consists of five companies operating in industrial minerals, mining and construction services, mechanical services, drilling technology, and explosives.
Your Role
As a research engineer at LKAB, you'll have a key role in developing future mineral processes. You'll be responsible for testing activities in apatite flotation and work with process development at lab, pilot, and demo scales. Through practical tests and analyses, you'll contribute to optimizing and quality assuring materials for the hydrometallurgical process.
Your main responsibilities include:
- Process leader for apatite flotation development, including test activities in the pilot plant in Malmberget
- Responsibility for equipment, orders, and material handling related to testing
- Perform and document analyses according to applicable methods
- Process quality development and optimization for critical minerals
- Support hydrometallurgical testing at the Luleå facility
- Actively participate as a member of the process development group for LKAB's critical minerals initiative

We're seeking a problem-solving oriented and detail-focused person able to work independently and drive development forward. You can build networks, identify the right partners, and take responsibility for process development. Your meticulousness will be evident in documentation, evaluation, and result analysis. At the same time, you're collaborative and contribute to a well-functioning work environment.
We're looking for someone with:
- Relevant technical university degree or equivalent
- At least several years of relevant work experience in mineral technology with documented experience in flotation process development
- Experience in mineral technology and hydrometallurgy process development is meritorious but not required
- High communication skills in both Swedish and English, written and verbal
- Class B driver's license
