Research Engineer in UI Development and Testing of Security Analysis Tools

**Job Description** **Responsibilities** We are seeking a research engineer for a project lasting up to six months, focusing on UI development and testing of formal verification tools for microarchitectural security at the Department of Network and Systems Engineering, KTH. This position is part of a project funded by the Wallenberg Launchpad (WALP). The main responsibilities include developing user interfaces (UI) and testing formal analysis frameworks that evaluate software security against microarchitectural attacks. Additional tasks may include contributing to the design of other parts of the framework and supporting related research activities. Strong software development skills and good experience with C/C++ are highly valued. While not a requirement, knowledge of microarchitectural security and experience with compiler design, LLVM, or SMT solvers are considered advantageous. **Qualifications** **Requirements** - A completed degree at the undergraduate or graduate level (higher education) in a relevant field or equivalent competence. - Good knowledge of software development with C/C++, and preferably also with other programming languages, such as Python. - Excellent command of English, which is required for daily work. **Meritorious** - Knowledge of microarchitectural attacks, such as Spectre and Meltdown. - Background or interest in program verification, compiler pass design, LLVM, or SMT solvers. - Awareness of diversity and equality issues, with a particular focus on gender equality. - As a person, you find it easy to work independently but also enjoy collaborating in a team.
